University of New Haven Acquires Railroad Salvage Building and Land Adjacent to Main Campus
The 130,000 square-foot-building and 12-acre lot will be reimagined to create a pioneering Research and Development Center.

For Christian Rosario ’24, the connections he’s made as a have led to exciting opportunities to get involved with the University community – and beyond. He’s now making important connections in his field through his internship, and he’s already lined up a full-time position for after he graduates.

For Christian Rosario ’24, being a has meant enjoying all that the local area has to offer while enabling him to connect with a vibrant and supportive University community of individuals from around the world. It has also meant a variety of immersive opportunities to learn by doing.
A marketing major with a minor in finance, Rosario will be recognized as part of the University’s 2024 Commencement. The three-day event will be held on the University’s West Haven, Conn. campus in May. As Rosario reflects on his experiences as a , he has great memories of taking advantage of all that the University and the local community have to offer.
“Some of my favorite memories as a include exploring the city of New Haven,” he said. “I was tasting food from world-famous pizzerias and meeting people from all over the country and the world.”
A member of the University’s , Rosario enjoyed meeting other students and sharing their rich cultures and traditions. A Pompea College of Business diplomat, Rosario discussed his experiences as a with prospective students and their families at Open Houses.
Rosario has taken every opportunity to gain experience both in and out of the classroom. While interning at the University’s Gaia Initiative, a student-driven investment fund, he conducted investment research, as well as portfolio selection and analytics. As an intern with Literacy Volunteers, he redesigned the nonprofit’s marketing strategy, helped build relationships with other organizations, and assisted with recruiting new clients and volunteers.
“My proudest experience was interning at FactSet Research Systems Inc. in New York City last summer on their consulting team,” recalls Rosario. “I was able to meet financial professionals from major firms and visit their offices while working on real client projects.”
Rosario will continue to work for FactSet after completing his degree, and he has accepted a full-time position in the company’s New York City office. The University of New Haven has an affiliation with the Norwalk, Conn.-based data and technology company.
“The curriculum at the University emphasizes experiential learning, which allowed me to gain practical experience in my field,” said Rosario. “The professors that I’ve had have been very pro-student and supportive, especially when it came to internships and opportunities.”
